CVE-2022-25365 2022-02-19 00h56 +00:00 Docker Desktop before 4.5.1 on Windows allows attackers to move arbitrary files. NOTE: this issue exists because of an incomplete fix for CVE-2022-23774.

CVE-2021-21284 2021-02-02 16h55 +00:00 In Docker before versions 9.03.15, 20.10.3 there is a vulnerability involving the --userns-remap option in which access to remapped root allows privilege escalation to real root. When using "--userns-remap", if the root user in the remapped namespace has access to the host filesystem they can modify files under "/var/lib/docker/" that cause writing files with extended privileges. Versions 20.10.3 and 19.03.15 contain patches that prevent privilege escalation from remapped user.

CVE-2020-27534 2020-12-30 21h28 +00:00 util/binfmt_misc/check.go in Builder in Docker Engine before 19.03.9 calls os.OpenFile with a potentially unsafe qemu-check temporary pathname, constructed with an empty first argument in an ioutil.TempDir call.

CVE-2019-5736 2019-02-10 23h00 +00:00 runc through 1.0-rc6, as used in Docker before 18.09.2 and other products, allows attackers to overwrite the host runc binary (and consequently obtain host root access) by leveraging the ability to execute a command as root within one of these types of containers: (1) a new container with an attacker-controlled image, or (2) an existing container, to which the attacker previously had write access, that can be attached with docker exec. This occurs because of file-descriptor mishandling, related to /proc/self/exe.

CVE-2016-9962 2017-01-31 21h00 +00:00 RunC allowed additional container processes via 'runc exec' to be ptraced by the pid 1 of the container. This allows the main processes of the container, if running as root, to gain access to file-descriptors of these new processes during the initialization and can lead to container escapes or modification of runC state before the process is fully placed inside the container.

CVE-2016-8867 2016-10-28 13h00 +00:00 Docker Engine 1.12.2 enabled ambient capabilities with misconfigured capability policies. This allowed malicious images to bypass user permissions to access files within the container filesystem or mounted volumes.
