CVE Descriptions

Integer overflow in the ReadSGIImage function in sgi.c in ImageMagick before 6.2.9 allows user-assisted attackers to cause a denial of service (crash) and possibly execute arbitrary code via large (1) bytes_per_pixel, (2) columns, and (3) rows values, which trigger a heap-based buffer overflow.

EPSS

EPSS is a scoring model that predicts the likelihood of a vulnerability being exploited.

EPSS Score

The EPSS model produces a probability score between 0 and 1 (0 and 100%). The higher the score, the greater the probability that a vulnerability will be exploited.

EPSS Percentile

The percentile is used to rank CVE according to their EPSS score. For example, a CVE in the 95th percentile according to its EPSS score is more likely to be exploited than 95% of other CVE. Thus, the percentile is used to compare the EPSS score of a CVE with that of other CVE.

source: https://www.securityfocus.com/bid/19507/info ImageMagick is prone to a remote heap buffer-overflow vulnerability because the application fails to properly bounds-check user-supplied input before copying it to an insufficiently sized memory buffer. This issue allows attackers to execute arbitrary machine code in the context of applications that use the ImageMagick library. ImageMagick versions in the 6.x series, up to version 6.2.8, are vulnerable to this issue. https://gitlab.com/exploit-database/exploitdb-bin-sploits/-/raw/main/bin-sploits/28383.sgi
