Related Weaknesses

CWE-ID Weakness Name Source
CWE-22 Improper Limitation of a Pathname to a Restricted Directory ('Path Traversal')

EPSS

EPSS is a scoring model that predicts the likelihood of a vulnerability being exploited.

EPSS Score

The EPSS model produces a probability score between 0 and 1 (0 and 100%). The higher the score, the greater the probability that a vulnerability will be exploited.

EPSS Percentile

The percentile is used to rank CVE according to their EPSS score. For example, a CVE in the 95th percentile according to its EPSS score is more likely to be exploited than 95% of other CVE. Thus, the percentile is used to compare the EPSS score of a CVE with that of other CVE.

source: https://www.securityfocus.com/bid/43577/info MODx is prone to a local file-include vulnerability and a cross-site scripting vulnerability because it fails to properly sanitize user-supplied input. An attacker can exploit the local file-include vulnerability using directory-traversal strings to view and execute local files within the context of the webserver process. Information harvested may aid in further attacks. The attacker may leverage the cross-site scripting issue to execute arbitrary script code in the browser of an unsuspecting user in the context of the affected site. This may let the attacker steal cookie-based authentication credentials and launch other attacks. MODx 2.0.2-pl is vulnerable; other versions may also be affected. http://www.example.com/modx/manager/controllers/default/resource/tvs.php?class_key=../../../../../../../../../../windows/win.ini%00
